Our Services
We’re in the business of happy tears.
Relationship is at the heart of what we do. Relationships with local advocacy organizations lead to relationships with the clients we serve.
Our advocacy partners qualify our clients through a thorough application process. They verify their needs and champion their cause, while we expand their footprints of care, providing services they could not otherwise offer.
We take into consideration the family’s hopes and dreams as they seek to establish new, healthy, daily rhythms. Check out how we do what we do below.

Turn-key Installations

Our turn-key installations include the works: furniture, artwork, curtains, rugs, bedding, and fully outfitted kitchens and baths. Our clients leave their typically empty home for the day, and a team of 6–16 volunteers goes to work, completely finishing in 8–10 hours. Reveal moments are extra special and often include happy tears as the family sees its newly appointed home for the first time. If the family chooses, we provide a blessing over the home before leaving them to explore and enjoy their space.
Doorstep Deliveries

Many of the families we serve have experienced trauma, so not all are ready to have a team cross their threshold. Our doorstep deliveries give families the option of rallying their friends and meeting us at our truck outside of their home. We hand off each item with instructions (via a translator when English isn’t their first language). They take the items indoors and configure them as they see fit. Similar to our installations, if the family is interested, we offer a blessing before leaving them.
Starter Kits

Our starter kits are intended to help stabilize families exiting shelter situations. They are designed to address the essentials of eating, sleeping, and showering. Depending on the situation, the kits may also address fire safety with fire extinguishers and smoke and/or Carbon Monoxide detectors. They often include special touches like flowers for Mom and a cozy plush toy for each child. Each kit is unique, and each is delivered by a hearts+homes team member with the family’s advocate.
Home Visits

Before and after a turn-key installation, we personally visit the family. We spend time getting to know them, ask questions, listen well, and physically measure just about every aspect of their home. It’s an in-person opportunity to better understand their needs and to begin to build trust. Change can be challenging, even when it’s positive, so helping them anticipate and navigate change is important to them adapting well to their new home environment.
Furniture Pick-ups

hearts+homes offers free furniture pick-ups for donated items we’ve reviewed and chosen to receive. We’ve found that many families donating furnishings do so with heavy hearts: the loss of a loved one, a move to assisted living, a divorce, even a job transfer can bring stress and anxiety. We’re a little different because we offer care to both those who give and those who receive. We listen, offer support opportunities, and pray with/for each family that shares a concern.
Follow-up Care

We track our families receiving installations and doorstep deliveries for one full year. The day after a delivery or installation, we speak with the family’s advocate to see how they slept their first night. For installations, 1–2 weeks after the reveal, we visit in person. For installations and deliveries, we check in with advocates at 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. Our goal is a zero-return-to-original-crisis rate. Strong partnerships and their wrap-around services help our clients thrive.
hearts+homes is honored to serve all faiths, nationalities, ethnicities, ages, and genders.
